Mother Nature knows best. After all, everything we consume is, directly or indirectly, derived from one of her gifts. While the world is filled with a multitude of innovations that include the latest technologies, improved formulas, and new designs, the more complicated products do not necessarily yield the best results. Every so often we are reminded that Mother Nature offers us simple ingredients and endless possibilities for product ideas.Lire la suite
Does what you’re wearing fit who you are? Does it present the person you want to become? When you step out onto the street, what is your look communicating? The clothes you wear at this very moment tell onlookers about your personality, your values and your current mood, all without you uttering a word. “What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language,” said fashion designer Miuccia Prada.Lire la suite
Chaos theory is the science of surprises. It examines sensitive systems that are unpredictable and out of our control. Its most known concept, the Butterfly Effect, states that small changes in initial conditions in one state can result in large differences in a later state. We observe this phenomenon in nature and in humankind: a butterfly flapping its wings in China can lead to a hurricane in New Mexico; careful diplomacy can prevent war; asking the right questions can lead to a great discovery; a chance encounter can save a life. Our simple acts of kindness can have remarkable effects on humanity.Lire la suite
What is identity? It is your sense of self: your conditions, your character, qualities, and beliefs. It is what makes you unique. It is both defined by you and shaped by those around you. Forming an identity starts with knowing who you are, discovering your raison d’être, and finding opportunities to live up to your potential and live out your purpose. “Day by day, what you choose, what you think and what you do is who you become,” wrote the Greek philosopher Heraclitus.Lire la suite

Gain me and quickly lose me.
If treated with care I can be great,

L'hink of your favourite piece of music. Hear its melody, feel its rhythm and call to mind its lyrics. Like a good friend, it speaks to you and makes you feel understood, and less lonely when real friends are in short supply. Music can take you on a nostalgic journey of what once was, and fuel your heart with hope for what is to come. It’s elevating, thought-provoking, motivating. It changes moods, changes minds, changes lives; in the words of the great Louis Armstrong, “Music is life.’’Lire la suite
“One’s real life is so often the life that one does not lead.” This observation by Oscar Wilde was as true in turn-of-the-century Britain as it is today. Many of us have dreams, goals and talents that we don’t pursue because society divides us into groups and typecasts us. As children we are given colouring books with themes to fit our type. We learn that these books come with an implied set of rules: colour neatly in one direction, use complementary colours, finish one page before starting the next, and, most importantly, stay within the lines. When we grow into teenagers the colouring outlines only get more complicated, and the rules more restricted. Societal “norms” try to limit who we are and who we will become.Lire la suite
What makes the world go ‘round? Is it money? Or is it love? Surely money is essential in meeting your fundamental needs, but if you want to climb to the top of Maslow’s pyramid, it will not suffice. You also want your career to be a perfect fit for you, and one way to achieve that is to be your own boss. If you’re flirting with the thought of becoming an entrepreneur, follow your heart. Pursuing your idea in the right way might just lead to lasting self-love.Lire la suite
Fairy tales come true when we write them ourselves. Throughout the years, and especially after taking a few wrong turns in my life, I’ve learned how to write my way out of a rough drama and conjure up my own fairy tale. While the story and setting of your adventure are set, you decide on your actions, you choose which path to take, and you select the characters you want by your side. You certainly can’t wait for a hero to show up, but through being open to chances, and embracing opportunities, you can walk through the labyrinth, get past the obstacles, slay the dragon, and arrive at your happily ever after. Fairy tales come true when you dream with direction, work with purpose, and invest in people, not things. Following this formula you spread a fairy dust of positivity everywhere you go. You make the magic happen and you empower others to believe in their own story.Lire la suite
